Welcome!

We are a local charity that conserves, maintains, and works to improve the natural heritage of Biggar and the surrounding area.

Biggar & District Community Heritage Limited was set up in 2005. Since then we have established 2 areas of local community woodland, and published a town trail leaflet. We are currently working on improving our local path network for the benefit of both local people and visitors. A substantial upgrade to the Bizzyberry path has been possible thanks to funding from our local wind-farm community funds. We also continue to maintain the woodland areas, and are planning further conservation projects.

We hope our community will become increasingly involved in our work and help to shape it, and that we will be able to extend our partnerships in the surrounding area.

Our Current Projects

Little Mitchellwood Community Woodland

Little Michellwood was our first project. It involved the restoration of a neglected piece of woodland on the edge of Biggar
